ENVIRONMENTAL LITERATURE PROJECT

San Pancho Bird Observatory Operating Plan July 2016- June 2019.

The Environmental Literature Project (ELP) is San Pancho Bird Observatory´s (SPBO) operating plan to deliver out conservation strategy from July 2016-June 2019.

By creating, adapting and delivering printed and audiovisual environmental contents, presentations and workshops to as many local people and communities as possible across the Sierra de Vallejo and Banderas Bay Bioregion in the states of Nayarit and Jalisco.

The overall goal is to collectively address with specific actions the current and upcoming challenges and opportunities for conservation and community sustainability resulting from the accelerated growth of the tourism industry that is expected as a consequence of the completion of the new 180km highway that will cross through jungles with a high conservation level putting at risk the survival of multiple resident and migratory species many of them included in the NOM 059 2010 (Mexican endangered species act).

This project will reduce and mitigate multiple negative effects for biodiversity and the communites across the regions through environmental education, the integration of products and services oriented to conservation and responsibile tourism.
